Richard Lynch Delivers Tribute To Country Music On "My Guitar Drips Country"

Richard Lynch has been performing country music for the better part of three decades now, and it’s practically ingrained in his DNA, at this point. To that end, it’s not surprising that his latest album, ‘My Guitar Drips Country’ is entirely a tribute to country music, God and everything that Richard represents as an artist.

Richard has quite the pedigree in country music. He’s been a mainstay in music magazines like Billboard magazine, and he’s also appeared on WSM Radio Nashville, RFD TV, Fox TV and more. He has recorded popular duets with legendary artists like Ronnie McDowell and Leona Williams, as well as Grammy Winner, Rhonda Vincent, so he’s very much got a reputation to live up to. Thankfully, with ‘My Guitar Drips Country’ he delivers.

Every song on the album is written from a personal perspective, more akin to a story teller telling tales based on experiences that could have only been gained from living through the salt of the Earth. Matching this is the delivery of Richard Lynch’s vocals. On some songs he sings his heart out, but In others he soothingly talks them with his smooth baritone voice. It’s effective at conveying the tone the album’s going for.

One of the more interesting songs on the album is ‘Hurtin, Cheatin, Lyin Country Song’ where Richard bemoans the state of country music and asks for country music to have more emotional depth. It’s a valid complaint amongst the recent rise of bro country, and we can wholeheartedly understand where Richard’s coming from with this one.

Musically, the album is very much a representation of the good old-styled country music and the sound of Americana. There are the hallmark country guitars and drums, and while it’s not particularly anything new, it’s good old-fashioned country performed well and impressively. It's a very satisfying country effort.

Richard and his songwriting are what make the album work as well as it does, and we’re really looking forward to what he puts forward next.
