Following an impressive run of acoustic shows and garnering fans the whole of the UK over, Australian pop-fusion duo President Street are back with their single, ‘I Found Me’, the music video for which we wait with baited breath.
It’s an unconventional song which melds drum ‘n’ bass inspired percussion and a lazy guitar riff with its roots in pure, old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll. It’s been hotly tipped to be the anthem of this Autumn, and with instrumentation as unique and lyrics as shrewd as this, it’s easy to see why.
The chorus is undeniably rousing and buoyant, with the hook “I didn’t know I was looking for me / Until I found you,” is one that I defy you to get out of your head anytime soon. It’s a refreshing statement from an industry so oversaturated with tales of romantic relationships that to have a song that is dedicated to the act of self-discovery and self-love really feels like a triumph.
Mixed by the celebrated mixer, writer, and musician Ash Howes, the track has what it takes
to become the anthem of autumn 2019. Howes, who has worked with One Direction, Kylie
Minogue, and Jack Savoretti (to name but a few), has been instrumental in the success of
some of the industry’s most popular albums and he has now applied his Midas touch to ‘I Found Me’.
