Get the low-down on the new kid on the singer-songwriter block before she takes over the airwaves this Christmas
Katie Kittermaster, new kid on the singer-songwriter block, is set to drop her debut EP, Coming Home at Dawn, a collection of simplistic yet intellectually-written songs about the trials and tribulations of the world of romance, from the perspective of someone navigating that world for the first time.
Stand-out tracks are lead single ‘Sunday Afternoon’, an ode to the comfortable, healthy relationship we all dream of, where “being in each other’s company is enough,” (Kittermaster on her songwriting themes). Kittermaster’s beautifully understated voice is our guide throughout this 5-track EP of sweet and heartfelt love songs, one of which was impressively written at age 15.
“Music is a really powerful outlet for my own emotions,” says the now 19-year old singer and songwriter, whose song ‘T-Shirt’ won both the Commonwealth Song of the Year and the UK Songwriting Contest this year, and got Kittermaster to the final of the Lyricist of the Year awards as well.
It’s been a while in the making, but it’s finally time for this multi-award-winning artist to grace us with the studio versions of songs which she has been performing live all over the world for the last few years. She is currently on tour with none other than X Factor sensation Lucy Spraggan, but will soon be returning home for her conquests in Europe to bask in her success in the wake of the release of Coming Home at Dawn.
