Taylor Castro once again has released a deeply personal track which sees her, this time, turning her own introspection and powers of observation onto a friend.

‘Abyss’ reveals Castro’s truly impressive talents as a lyricist once again. But, this time, the lyrics are wrapped up in a gloriously clean and euphoric production style, leaving these deeply personal lyrics wrapped up in a catchy pop hit.

But it’s also so much more than that. ‘Abyss’ is a statement of intent from this wise-beyond-her-years star in the making. Hotly tipped as ‘America’s new sweetheart’, Castro has proven time and again that she can follow in the footsteps of some of the biggest names in female singer-songwriter territory - and stand out from the pack as she does so.

Truly poetic lyrics with references to Greek mythology (yes! In a pop song!) characterise ‘Abyss’, with the heartbreaking tale of confusion and patience told in Castro’s incredibly soulful vocal tone. Sounding like she’s someone twice her age in both vocal technique and lyrical content is no mean feat, and it’s something Castro has done consistently in past releases as well.

Having just embarked on a virtual world tour in collaboration with Live Nation, and hotly tipped to break in a big way in the UK, this is certainly a train you will want to be hopping on as soon as possible in order to stay ahead of the very big curve which leads, no doubt, into Castro’s future successes.
