Hi Kendra!! Great to have you here!!
Thanks for inviting me to interview!
What is the most difficult song you have ever written?
The most difficult song I've ever written is "Figure 8" because it was my first song to write that didn't start as a poem or vocal jam.
Now, I know how to approach songs and utilize songwriting structures.
What is the hardest aspect of songwriting?
The trickiest part about songwriting is consistently growing, maintaining originality, and expressing space to each song. I'd also say stretching the song as much as it wants to go. Some songs want to be more intricate with extended verses and composed sections.
How do you find your peace?
Peace is 111% a feeling of connection spurring from within.
I find peace via meditations, dreams, playing guitar, exploring new places or nostalgic ones, listening to trance-like music or frequency tones.
Hula hooping, writing poetry, driving.
When are you at your personal best?
In the late afternoon // all the time
When I let myself be me, while getting enough sleep and hanging around the right people.
If you could open a show for any artist who would it be and why?
Keller Williams -- Amazing & potentially similar crowd to mine. I love his songwriting and guitar skills.
Miley Cyrus -- I love her new rock 'n roll style. Go, girl!
Tedeschi Trucks Band -- Co-lead by a strong female, Susan Tedeschi. Amazing blues jams with rock-soul.
Do you have a go-to karaoke song?
"White Rabbit" Jefferson Airplane
"Just a Girl" No Doubt
"Hot in Here" Nelly
