Country music gives every listener and creative in the genre a common ground to bond over, a bond that can never be broken. Legends within the genre are idolized and all others share a deep, personal relationship as country artists. This is the type of relationship Richard Lynch had with Doug Supernaw, and an influence Richard dives into on the tribute track “Supernaw.” Supernaw ended up passing away at the age of sixty from cancer, and he does an excellent job of paying tribute to his music and the life he lived in his years under the sun. An upbeat instrumental sets the tone of celebration that follows, as he sings of the mark left by Supernaw on the genre and culture of country music while referencing his achievements and past projects in a touching and fitting way. We could talk about this record for hours upon hours, but nothing could capture the entirety of Lynch’s heartfelt tribute and the emotion he shows then playing the single for yourself!
